A sixth-generation Texan, Carol grew up in Garland and has lived in Dallas for 30 years. She graduated from South Garland High School and Baylor University. Carol and her husband, David, live in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, and all three of their children attended RISD public schools, kindergarten through 12th grade. Carol currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Richardson Independent School District and has worked professionally in higher education for 20 years.
